Passion Flowers

by Molly Charles

Adult Contemporary Romance
print & ebook, 300 pages
August 10, 2016 by The Wild Rose Press, Inc.

Ambitious career woman Leigh Taylor Cole and laid-back islander Deke Kearney have nothing in common—except a sizzling chemistry that turns their lives upside down and makes Leigh question her promise to bring him home to Seattle.

But Deke's going nowhere with the uptight mainlander. Until, that is, kidnappers threaten his son's safety and send the threesome into hiding in a secluded up-island cabin.

Proximity and provocative Maui breezes work their magic, forging a passionate bond between Leigh and Deke and forcing Leigh to face her greatest fear. And eventually to unlock a secret buried so deeply in her past, she's hidden it even from herself.

Excerpt

She turned to go, but his arm encircled her shoulders and she was pulled to his side once again, pressing the flowers against her cheek, the fragrance from the leis teasing her nose. And once again, the sensation of intoxicating masculine strength and warm skin against warm skin scrambled her brains.

“You’re coming to DJ’s party, aren’t you?”

“No, I …” She was breathless. Finally, ironically, her body was finding its rhythm—in

the pulsing sensation beating time in her stomach. “I have to go.”

“Don’t,” Deke said. “Don’t go. Join us. It’ll be a good time.”

DJ was wrapping up the evening, bantering with well-wishers and giving directions to the party. He called out Leigh’s name. “I’m saving a piece of birthday cake just for you, gorgeous!”

“See?” Deke’s arm tightened around her. “You can’t say no to the birthday boy.”

She shook her head and waved at DJ. “Afraid I have to.”

“Oh, come on. Join us for a while,” Deke cajoled.

She would be safer if she said no, but then Leigh tried to focus on her mission. She hadn’t made any headway tonight. Going to the party would bring her closer to the musicians and to the crowd from Mike’s, closer to finding David Kearney.

Yet, she’d had enough of this day. All she wanted to do was retreat to her hotel room, shut out sounds of the surf, dive into bed, and forget all about the irritating man she was seeking—and the disturbing man embracing her now.

But Deke’s touch made it hard to think straight, and for some unfathomable reason, she couldn’t pull away.
